Catch basins and storm drains are important habitats for mosquitoes that can carry arboviruses such as West Nile virus, Dengue, and St. Louis encephalitis. Culex species such as Culex quinquefasciatus, Cx. pipiens, Cx. restuans, and Aedes species such as Aedes aegypti can be found in these habitats.
A product is required that provides extended residual activity against mosquitoes in intermittently wet/dry systems. MetaLarv XRP provides the extended residual of a traditional briquet with the increased surface area and application flexibility of a pouch!

Problem: A product is needed that provides multiple point sources in a catch basin for consistent residual control.

Solution: MetaLarv® XRP Mosquito Growth Regulator is a biorational, extended-release pouch for pre-hatch & standing water control of mosquito larvae in catch basins & drainage systems. It features 4.25% (S)-methoprene- a juvenile hormone analog of mosquitoes that prevents the emergence of adult mosquitoes and utilizes Valent BioSciences’ proprietary Triple Release Technology™.

Utilizing Triple Release Technology™ for Up To 105 days of Control

  1. Initial flash of (S)-methoprene provides immediate control with no dependency on water temperature
  2. Second release of the “micro-briquets” allows for control of multiple broods
  3. Third release ensures control in situations of dry-down in the catch basin and re-flood
